Mellon Happenings
If you haven’t already noticed, I have created a Mellon Family category for my stories. Since I have a whole housefull of Mellons now, I figured I would make a category for them and post about their individual family. Of course, I won’t be playing that much since my main family is the Palomas, but Every once in a while I will. I played their family for a really long time tonight. Mainly because I wanted to get Nikki, Brandon, and Lianna moved into their house. I was stupid and didn’t have Kiara invite her to move in with her. I explained all of that earlier, so their really isn’t any need for me to right now. Here is the Mellon’s new house, Mellon Manor.
I’m actually quite satisfied with this house. I created it really quickly, and it turned out a lot nicer than I expected. I had Kiara get a job in the Politics career track, and Pao in the Military. They didn’t have to go to work until the next day, though. I looked at both of their aspirations wants and noticed that they both wanted to have a baby. That was odd, seeing as they’re both popularity sims. I locked it anyway and went to fufill their wants.
I was excited to hear the Lullaby tune after they were finished. Right after that, I sent Pao to fix breakfast and they sat at the kitchen table. I thought this picture was really cute:
It’s like a miniature family breakfast. Not too many in the family yet, but we’re slowly working on it. Right after dinner, Kiara rushed towards the toilet. After that, throughout the day, she was clutching her stomach and moaning in pain. Poor thing.
Well Pao, being an NPC, had a ton of skill points when he moved in. He had already maxed out body, mechanical, and creativity. He had really high skill in all the other ones. So I figured I’d go for the Impossible Want, Max All Skills. Being a Popularity sim, Pao didn’t have an aspiration want for it, but who cares. It gets me one point in the game! It took him about 2 days, but he finally maxed it out.
He was very happy about that, and right afterwards he went off to work. Kiara was sitting at home, studying creativity and charisma for her career. I wasn’t paying attneion to her, and it was on high speed. I clicked on her and realized her energy was at rock bottom. I hurried and canceled her studying, and then clicked on the bed for her to go to sleep. She almost made it, but right before she did, she passed out on the bedroom floor at the foot of the bed, taking 1,000 aspiration points down with her.
I had her go to bed and then it was time for Pao to come home from work. I went out to the front of the house, and was greeted with a promotion from him. Here he is, thinking about his lovely upgrade in the military field.
After dinner, I moved to maxing out Pao’s logic skill. He needed about 3 more points. I made him study till he was almost in the red. Then I moved him upstairs to go to bed. In the morning, Pao got up out of bed and automatically went to practicing logic. I almost didn’t get it maxed, but right before his carpool was about to leave, he finally did it. And I still managed to get him to the car in time!
That day, Kiara was on her 3rd trimester and expecting to give birth at any moment. Thankfully, we didn’t have any unfortunate accidents this time. I made sure to keep an eye on her needs. About an hour after Pao got home, the camera zoomed in on her and it was time for the new addition to the family. I was hoping to get a boy, since everyone in the Paloma family has been a girl. Well, to my luck, Kiara did give birth to a new baby brother for Nikki. I named him Spencer. He’s a very cute little baby. He’s got brown hair, of course, both his parents’ blue eyes, and his mom’s medium skin tone.
I finally got Nikki, Brandon and Lianna to move in with Pao, Kiara, and Spencer after about 6 sim days of trying. Well, hey, at least Pao and Kiara are now a little bit older than Nikki and Brandon.
A day later, it was Spencer’s birthday. Another toddler! Yippee! They’re so cute though….
That’s it for the Mellon Family! I’m planning on marrying Spencer to Dagmar, the mailwoman. She’s a very pretty blonde and I need a change in hair color for these families! She’s got a weird name and I’ve heard she’s a Romance Sim, but oh well! She’s still really pretty! Check back soon for another update on the Palomas!

Thanks Jen! I’m rather fond of the house too! I was contemplating playing this house Legacy Challenge style. I decided I would play by the rules, but not keep score. So Pao maxing all of his skills won’t do anything, but it would still be cool. I guess I should have kept him with the Palomas until he fufilled that. Talk to you soon!

Wow, this family seems very intresting. I love the babies, I think what I enjoy most about stories are the growing up part… I love to see DNA traits passed down from parent to kid…
